Welcome to First Parish’s Music Program page! Our congregation shares a vision for worship in which people of many different backgrounds and beliefs come together in wonder, celebration, praise, meditation, sorrow, and reverence. We draw from a wide variety of musical styles and cultures to help create the sacred space in which inclusive communal worship can take place.

Our volunteer Adult Choir is augmented by two professional section leaders. Our music staff includes a Music Director who conducts the Adult Choir and works closely with the Minister to create meaningful liturgies, and a talented, creative Organist/accompanist who is proficient in many styles of music.

Once a month we feature our Family Choir, an ad-hoc group open to anyone of any age and any level of musical ability or experience. Adults and children of all ages enjoy this opportunity to sing together, play percussion instruments, and make a joyful noise in worship.

We are working to establish a vibrant children’s program, and we often create opportunities for instrumentalists in the congregation to share their talent with us during worship. In addition, the Music Program at First Parish is involved in the life of the community at large, and is home to the Friday Noon Concert Series.
